The Lighthouses were beautifully decorated with diyas and lights on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. Every year students of each lighthouse would come together to celebrate the festival but this year all the Lighthouse teams celebrated separately given the COVID-19 situation.
The Municipal Commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation Hon. Shri. Vikram Kumar visited the Aundh Lighthouse on 7th Oct 2020. Aundh Lighthouse celebrated “World Mental Health Day” with our Lighthouse Community. Iravati Kamat, currently working with Quality Council of India conducted a session, explained the importance of Mental Health, Self Care, Stressors, First Aid, Knowledge, and Awareness.
The Induction Day program organized for 15 new members who joined the PCC team during the lockdown. It was held on 26th and 28th September along with our chairman, Dr. Ganesh Natarajan, and our CEO, Ms. Ruchi Mathur.
Pune City Connect Development Foundaiton signed a Momenrandum of Understading (MoU) with Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to roll-out the Lighthouse Program in PCMC area.
Yerawada Lighthouse has been serving its communities since the last 4 years and has supported more than 2500 youth in choosing a path of dignity and opportunity.
Pune City Connect is continuing its operations during the COVID- 19 crisis. The Lighthouse and Digital Empowerment programs went online within 2 weeks of the lockdown. Till date, 3000 students have completed/ are undergoing their training.
Pune City Connect will start its Lighthouse project in PCMC area and first Lighthouse is planned in the building of Slum Development Department, 205 Business Centre, Near Chinchwad Vegetable Market, Chinchwad.
With the support of Sterlite Technology Limited and Pune Municipal Corporation, two digital empowerment buses were launched at Khillare Vasti, Karve road. These two buses will train the beneficiaries from Khillare Vasti, Karve road and Sant. Gadge Maharaj Vasti, Koregaon Park.
